KUALA LUMPUR : Datuk Dr Mohd Shafei Abdullah retained his Wangsa Maju division chief post after beating his contenders in the three-cornered fight today.
Shafei garnered 247 votes, defeating Zainal Nazeri Zainuddin (52) and Mohammad Azlan Abdullah (16).
Shafei later thanked the delegates for giving him the mandate and promised that he would improve the party's performance.
He said his lost in the 13th general election did not dampen his spirit to serve for the party.
"Our focus now is to win back Wangsa Maju in the next election. We hope that we can win the heart of our voters especially the young ones," he said.
Meanwhile, Datuk Hamdan Mohd Yusoff won the division's deputy-chief post while Abd Razak Muhamad won the division's vice-chief post.
